MIXTAPE: Bitchin’ Mixtape Vol.21

Happy New Year people. Kickoff 2014 with some great tunes. Cheers.

Track listing (click for larger view):

  • Pigs – best voice. Here’s a slow churner slab of awesome.
  • Blockheads – reminds me of early 90s Napalm with Barney. And that’s a huge compliment in my book.
  • Dwn – you may recall this debut album made my greatest albums of all-time list. Such a great sound on this album. This here song fucking rules.
  • Est Bst – The singer sounds like a whiny bitch but the music slays. Get a new singer and you have a big future.
  • Ghst – I like about 5-6 songs from what they’ve thus far released. This is by far the best song.
  • Hgh Wre – Melody. Chorus. Hook. Beautiful.
  • Krn – I’m a sucker for this band. Have been since they debuted. I like the new album. I’d call it a “mature” record for them. This song is great.
  • Modern Wr – They’re back. And this was from the last reign.
  • ND – Barney always comes up with creative titles. This one is very cleaver. And it rips the blank look right off your fucking face.
  • Nrva – Another of my rediscovery of this band’s whole catalog. Rawesome.
  • RrgWrm – These guys don’t fuck around. Exhibit A.
  • 6und B-side track to their latest. Once again, I like a B-side better than any of the tracks on the main album.
  • Strg – I like my share of alternative garage rock. This hits the spot.
  • Tort Kil – death metal – pure and simple. DEATH M-E-T-A-L!!!!!!! I say.
  • TS – One of my pioneer metal bands that got me into this whole great mess. This is such a great song. Should be played at every party for the rest of time. Get to it.
  • Z – from their brand new album. The beards still got it. Southern fried goodness with a side of BBQ sauce. Love the 4th gear the singer hits on the chorus.

MIXTAPE: Bitchin’ Mixtape Vol.20

I made most of the Bitchin’ Mixtapes 1-19 quite a while ago. Now we’re into a new era of Kielbasage Bitchin’ Mixtapes. Some newer stuff for y’all. Enjoy. Feedback appreciated.

Track listing (click for larger view):

Liner Notes:
  • Adl – yep. Good.
  • Bd Rel – New. Newly awesome.
  • Cht Cht – love this style. Garage alternative reverb hip. Fine by me when done like this.
  • DDP – The singer from a Big 6 Thrash band – Testam – doing it right
  • Frya – I love the song they covered. And they did not just a good job but an interesting job. I don’t want my cover songs to sound EXACTLY like the original. Give me your take. They did.
  • Kata – I’ve liked this death metal band from Montreal in the past – but this new album really steps it up. Damn good.
  • Richard – This guy ain’t Little. He’s a giant. Find out why. From his first album. Yeah the one from 56 years ago.
  • ND – I’ll say it again. My favorite band of all time. This latest just reaffirms it.
  • Nwstd – I have a real soft spot for this guy. Was one of my favs in this band. With curiosity I listened to what he had to offer. Blown away. LOVE his new album. Here’s one for you.
  • Nrva – I just relistened to their whole catalog and re-discovered and discovered a shit load of great stuff – including this. Fuck.
  • Rev – Don’t know this band? Wake the fuck up.
  • 7Sis – this band is so god damn heavy. Re-inventing death doom heavy. Mark it down.
  • Toma – I love this band. Starts with the front man. This band gives me what I always wanted out of his other big band – straight on rock that showcases his everything. Such a strong album.
  • Tort Kil – about as straight forward death metal (in a good way) as you can get this side of the modern version of Obituary. Love it. This here particular (the only such one) had this singer doing the growling.
  • WmWd – Different. Old. New. Echoey. Only way to describe it. That and it’s great.

MIXTAPE: Bitchin’ Mixtape Vol.19

Track listing (click for larger view):

Liner Notes:
  • BadBr – newish ditty that should make your spirits Rise with PMA.
  • Mariach – Holy shit awesome.
  • Cardiac Arrest – brutally unrefined death metal awesomeness with GREAT drumming.
  • Convg – slow, bendy heavy. One of my favs by these cats
  • Deathbed – powerful as hellcore. Get yur face ripped off
  • Doug the comedian – poop is funny. Always has been. Always will be.
  • Fidl – this just rocks. Rather Nirvana-ish. Early, unpolished Nirvana
  • Glitter – I love surf. And I love this Big 4 icon. Why not mix the two?
  • Helmt – what a sound on this album. So damn unique.
  • Ingri – these guys are good.
  • Last Days – from the Netherlands comes the heaviest of death grind whatever the fuck you wanna call it. Just listen to it.
  • Mega – forgotten gem of the most popular album.
  • Morbid – my fav of the highly criticized yet uniquely, ballsy risk taker that I like a lot.
  • ND – Japanese band’s cover song on the Code is Red bonus version. More here
  • Not Sorry – just right. My kinda hardcore.
  • Pathology – good lord. Death metal at its finest. Indecipherable vocals and thick on the groove.
  • Rage this song languished too much in parts. But I took care of that with this edit. There. That’s better.
  • Shin To Shin – very Bloodlet with darker, death undertones – and that’s a great thing.
  • Slugfest – Buffalo hardcore.
  • Turml – from their last proper album. Great, great band.
  • Weigh Anchor – crisp and clean with crunchy goodness. Thanks guys.

A truly Sublime MIXTAPE

Love this band. Yet another example of drugs fucking everything up. Singer Brad Nowell died from heroine at the ripe old age of 28 just before the band’s major label release of their 3rd album. This self-titled album is phenomenal. Too bad. But the legacy of greatest was left for us to enjoy. So you do that.

Check out their best in my opinion. Cheers.

MIXTAPE: Bitchin’ Mixtape Vol.18

Track listing (click for larger view):

  • BBrains – groovy with beautiful singing. Love this band. This band covered this song.
  • Blind Fth – Crushing with Ringworm-esque vocals.
  • Corpse – golden era oldie.
  • CodeX – riff-o-rama with the bass properly rumbling strong
  • Deathbed – HARDcore.
  • Diazepam – I’ve said it before, sometimes lower production makes a certain heaviness I totally dig. The drums pop more. This is a great example. Great song.
  • Fetus – my edit. Down to the best part. From their newest
  • Fed Wolves – god damn that beginning just rolls and gallops right over you. As does the singer.
  • GG Allin – I’ve done you a big favor here. I generally find all of his stuff artistic and interesting, if not “shocking” – but always more in the look than the quality of the music. This song is the exception in his entire catalog. This is a GREAT song and the only one you need.
  • Intgrty – yep – still awesome. More here.
  • Kn – from their first album – and this was a song I rediscovered again recently. More? You got it.
  • Mlvolent – Listen again. Hard. As always. This is newish.
  • Mfts – ballady awesome.
  • ND – we are at code red. Repeat. Code red.
  • Wrestling guy anthem – again, I find gems. I share. This should be played in every single party mix of yours. It is at my house.
  • P Runs Dp – the very BEST vocal style for me when it comes to hardcore. The songs is A+++++.
  • 7Sis – they out-Godfleshed Godflesh for crushing heaviness – and made it deathcoremetal. Great band. Love it.
  • T Killer – Barnes singing. Incredibly groovy song.
  • Weigh Anchor – clearly this style hardcore is my thing. Perfecto boys.
