MIXTAPE: Prong songs

Prong is one of those bands that of all my metal friends, I was the only one really into them. I got into them right around 1990 after their first big major label album came out – Beg To Differ. If you watched MTV Headbanger’s Ball back in the early to mid 90s – Prong’s 1990 album Beg To Differ was the music they used in all the show intro and outro bumps.

The classic original lineup was Tommy Victor (who has always been the founder, singer, guitarist and main force throughout), bassist Mike Kirkland and drummer Ted Parsons. Their next album – Prove You Wrong (1991) – now had Troy Gregory on bass. Troy was in Flotsam & Jetsam prior. I really liked Prove You Wrong. On this one album, the bass is equally weighted to Tommy’s guitar, which usually dominates Prong releases. A lot of Prong fans might not like Prove You Wrong, but it’s number two for me – behind Beg To Differ, and in front of Rude Awakening (1996).

Alright – now go listen. Cheers.
